In order to accompany young people in crisis situations and set them on the right path, the "Courage Makers for Tomorrow" project at ARCHE in Hamburg-Billstedt urgently needs support.
Since September 2016, ARCHE has offered a permanent drop-in center with educational support for children and young people in the socially deprived district of Billstedt. Many of the up to 70 children and 25 young people who regularly spend their free time there come from difficult backgrounds. The goal is to accompany and support these young people over many years with reliable caregivers. In total, the staff at Billstedter ARCHE have contact with about 100 young people from the district.
In order to provide these teenagers with age-appropriate services, the project "Courage Makers for Tomorrow" was launched. In addition to support in crisis situations, the project focuses on individual school support and preparation for graduation.
The support is incredibly well received. After all, the young people have been given a second home at the Ark. They eat together, do their homework together and take part in various leisure activities. The young people are particularly pleased that they can talk to someone and have someone to accompany them, especially during important job application processes.
For this project, costs are incurred for specialist and honorary staff at ARCHE Billstedt as well as material costs and costs for an eight-day learning vacation camp for 25 young people before they graduate from school.
Thanks to the generous support of Wempe at our Family Day, we are able to help the Ark in Billstedt.
