Moritz (4) was recently diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, which the parents suspected for a long time, because he already showed very unusual behavior as a toddler and initially could not be acclimated to daycare at all. The parents were busy around the clock with Moritz and his peculiarities, which is why the mother could not work. The father works full time, but the family had to supplement with ALG2. Now the parents have separated after 20 years together.
Moritz and his mother have found a small apartment and since this summer he attends a suitable integration daycare center.
Moritz still lacks many things in his new apartment, e.g. lockable cupboards and bolts for windows and doors. Moritz namely clears out cupboards, disassembles all kinds of objects and has a tendency to run away. Moritz has care degree 3. and his mother has no financial leeway.
Thanks to Wempe's generous support at our Family Day, we can help the two of them look forward again.
